The search is on for a new Superintendent

The Globe Unified School District is in search of a qualified candidate to take over the Superintendent position currently held by Mr. Jennex, who will be retiring at the end of the 2023-2024 school year. GUSD Appreciation Dinner

Nov. 16

We are feeling very blessed and thankful at GUSD. We have the best students, staff and families.

Over 300 people (staff members and their families) gathered together to celebrate and appreciate each other. The dinner was good and the socializing was even better! All staff, including coaches, were invited to be a part of this event.

Our Governing Board members and administrators donated and gathered donations for raffle items and more than 50 staff members took home appreciation gifts. All staff were given their annual GUSD staff shirt and our Governing Board members and administrators served our staff tonight to show appreciation. Thank you to the community members and businesses that donated so this event could happen. Rainy weather that forced a change in location couldn’t even dampen the spirit of our staff and this event.

It is always great to be a Globe Tiger! Thank you to ALL of our Globe Tiger staff!

Copper Rim held the annual Spelling Bee

Nov. 16

Yesterday where over 40 students competed for the title of winner. The top winners from Copper Rim will compete in the District Spelling Bee in December. Copper Rim winners are:

1st - Aaliyah Peltz, 2nd - Madisyn King

3rd - Christian Williams

It takes a lot of work, effort and bravery to compete in a Spelling Bee. We are proud of all of our students.

Congratulations

Mrs. Philpot selected as the Globe VFW Teacher of the Year.

We are so proud to announce that Mrs. Sharon Philpot has been selected as the Globe VFW Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Philpot was presented the award at last night’s Governing Board meeting by Globe School Board member and VFW Commander Anthony Hernandez. Mrs. Philpot has worked for GUSD for 13 years. She is a champion when it comes to educating and caring for students. She currently teaches 3rd grade at Copper Rim Elementary School.

Thank you, Mrs Philpot, for your dedication to our students and for your positive impact on hundreds of students in our district.

HDMS has crowned the Spelling Bee Winners

Spelling Bee winners for the 23/24 school year! Winners will participate in the District Spelling Bee in December.

Students attend skilled trades at Arizona Construction days

Students in Mrs Dixon’s Ag class and students that have expressed interest in skilled trades are enjoying hands-on learning at the Southern Arizona Construction days in Tucson. Ms. O’Connel chaperoned as well.

Professional development

Professional development is important in every field. Our grounds maintenance team travelled to the University of Arizona today to learn about field maintenance, fertilizer, lining and spraying, and overall lawn maintenance. This crew works hard to keep our grounds and fields looking great and we are happy they are Globe Tigers.
